Campervan hire frequently asked questions

If you are new to camping you’ll have loads of questions; below we’ve listed the most common that we have been asked. If you have any other questions please contact us and we’ll be happy to help.

We have never been camping – can we do it?

Yes, we welcome newbies; you’ll receive full instructions and there is an operational manual in all vans covering all the workings, remember – if you get stuck we are just a phone call away!

What’s included and are there any hidden extras?

Our vans are fully equipped with everything you need for a fantastic holiday. There are no hidden extras to pay for; however there are extras you may wish to purchase from our extras page to enhance your experience.

What is not included?

Campsite fees, food & drink, diesel – the van will be full of fuel just fill up on your return.

What do we need to bring?

Bedding (sleeping bags), pillows, towels, food & drink

Can we leave our car with you?

Yes during the rental your car will be locked securely in our unit.

Do all the vans have roof racks?

No please see the individual van spec.

Can we bring the dog?

Merlin and Dylan are dog friendly.

How long will it take to collect the van?

Please allow 30 minutes to give a full demo and sign all relevant paperwork.

Can we pick up and drop off the van at different times to the ones listed on the website?

Yes sometimes this is possible; we are a small family business and we will try to accommodate your needs please contact us with any requests that are not listed.

Can we come and have a look at the vans?

Yes of course; please contact us to check we have the vans available to show you.

Who is eligible to drive the vans?

The stated driver and any additional drivers between the ages of 25-75 with no more than six penalty points. There is a charge for additional drivers – check out the extras page for more information.

Is there any mileage limitations?

No the mileage is unlimited.

What happens if we break down?

Our vans are maintained to the highest standards; if the worst happens though they all have AA breakdown cover.

What happens in the event of a road accident?

If the accident is deemed your fault you will lose your bond, this will be used to cover the insurance excess on the vehicle.

What happens if we break something in the van?

Accidents happen – the cost of the repair or replacement will be deducted from your bond.

How far away is the campsite?

Porthcawl is the closest, around ten minutes – however there are hundreds to choose from doted around the coast of Wales.

Do I need to pay a bond/deposit?

Yes, a bond / deposit of £750 is required on all vans to satisfy our insurance company.

This is returned in full within seven days subject to our terms and conditions.

When do you take the payments.

We require a £99 PayPal deposit to book. An email payment request for the full balance will be sent one month prior to your Holiday.
The £750 bond will be taken on the day of collection. The bond is refunded within 7 days after your return.

Can we bring our own bike rack/small trailer?

Merlin and Dylan have tow bars with 7 pin electrics.

Do you accept overseas visitors?

Yes we welcome visitors from all over the world. Please email us to check our insurance company is happy. Cardiff airport is our closest airport which is forty minutes in a taxi.

We are considering purchasing our own van – do you offer advice?

Yes; ask to speak to Mike – owner of T1 Conversions who has converted all our vans. He will be happy to answer any questions including cost options etc. during the pick up or drop off period.

Can I take the vehicle abroad?

Yes, European travel is available by request, please get in touch for details and pricing.
